Hello! Want a competitive edge in business ... or in your next job interview? "Please" and "thank you" might be all you need. I was reminded of this while walking the streets of Pingyao Ancient City in China (https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/812) in June. But guess what: studies have shown the power of please in business and in job search, too. Chick-Fil-A generates more revenue per restaurant than any other fast-food chain, and analysts say that it is all about the manners (https://www.businessinsider.com/chick...). A JobVite recruiter survey found that you'll be dumped more often for being rude than you will for being late. 86% of recruiters said they drop a candidate immediately for being rude to the receptionist or support staff ... versus only 58% if you show up late!

P.S. If you're heading to China soon, don't miss the chance to stay at an ancient hotel inside the walls of Pingyao City! It was so much fun!
